Aluminium Welding Electrodes
ISOARC 720

Characteristics
The arc is very quiet and easy to maintain, giving a smooth, dense, porosity and spatter free weld at very low amperage. The slag coverage is adequate and easy to remove. The deposit has good corrosion resistance.

Applications
ISOARC 720 is used in the manufacturing and repair industry: profiles, plates, tubes, machine bases, Castings, housings, framework, truck and body building repair, containers, railings and pipes for example.

Procedures
No pre-heat is necessary on thin material. Heavy or complicated pieces should be be pre-heated to +-250 degrees depending on the thickness of the casting. Hold the electrode almost vertical to the work piece, keeping a medium to short arc. Due to aluminium's high conductivity, the amperage setting must be set high as indicated at the beginning of the weld. During the welding operation adjust the current to a lower amperage. Remove slag residues by brushing in hot water and rinsing, or use a 10% caustic soda solution. If necessary, follow this with a thorough rinsing and brushing in running water

Redrying
Should electrodes become moist re-dry at 120°C for 1 hour
