Cast Iron Welding Electrodes
E-NiC1 - Isoarc 210
Descriptions
99% Nickel cast Iron electrode
Characteristics
Specially developed for all cold welding of cast iron, the ISOARC 210 is ideal for positional work. Extra-low heat input, high strength and fully machinable deposits result from using this electrode, extremely pure, the 210 is a low hydrogen electrode with graphite.
Applications
ISOARC 210 can be used to cold-weld cast iron to steels, brass, bronze, thin and medium thick sections. Applications include: motor blocks, machine bases, motor and gear housing, cams, bearing blocks, transmission cases and machinery parts.
Procedures
Superior bonding is possible on heavy sections by local preheating to a maximum of 100 degrees. Use a short to medium arc at the lowest amperage possible. Peen lightly to relieve stresses. Skip weld, and back-step to avoid heat and stress accumulation. Before welding the repair area must be machined or ground clean. If ground, remove carborundum particles with an oxidizing flame, searing the area to be welded. Depending on wall thickness, a U or double U welding preparation must be made. Use a short arc and keep the electrode at a steep angle. Remove slag and peen lightly. Always restrike on the weld deposit and never on the parent metal as this induces thermal shock.

Cast Iron Welding Electrodes
E-Ni Fe C1 - Isoarc 260
Descriptions
55% Cast Iron electrode
Characteristics
Use ISOARC 260 for cold welding all types of cast iron. Particularly recommended for pressure tight welds on heavy castings and circumferential pipe welds. The specially formulated low hydrogen graphite type flux coating allows for soft welding with the highest joint strength and full machinability. The deposit is very dense, and bonding is good even on difficult to weld cast iron.
Applications
Housings, machinery parts and frames, granulators, heavy pump housing, pressure chambers etc.
Procedures
Maximum machinability and bonding on heavy sections is obtained by pre-heating to 150 degrees. Medium short arc should be maintained. Back-step technique and light peening of the welds is recommended. Before welding the repair area must be machined or ground clean. If ground, remove carborundum particles with an oxidizing flame, searing the area to be welded. Depending on wall thickness, a U or a double U welding preparation must be made. Use a short arc and keep the electrode at a steep angle. Remove slag and peen lightly. Always restrike on the weld deposit and never on the parent metal as this induces thermal shock.

Cast Iron Welding Electrodes
E St - Isoarc 270
Characteristics
Low hydrogen type with unusual ability to absorb impurities. Non-machinable on cast iron.
Applications
ISOARC 270 can be used as a sealer layer on dirty cast iron, for hard facing of cast iron and on difficult welds where pure nickel or nickel-iron electrodes don’t fuse. To seal impurities, use as a sealer run. If machinable deposits are required, ISOARC 210 can be applied onto ISOARC 270.
Procedures
On cast iron use a long arc with quick movements. Otherwise, use normal low hydrogen procedure.

Cast Iron Welding Electrodes
ENiCu-A - Isoarc NiCu-A
Descriptions
Basic electrode for joining and surfacing of nickel-copper alloys and of nickel-copper-clad steels.
Characteristics
It is also used for joining different materials, such as steel to copper and copper alloys, steel to nickel-copper alloys. Excellent corrosion resistance to chloride induced stress corrosion cracking and a wide range of marine and chemical requirements. These materials are employed in high grade apparatus construction, primarily for the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Applications
A special application field is the fabrication of seawater evaporation plants and marine equipment.
Procedures
It can be used for welding alloy 400 and similar parent materials to itself and to others in the NiCu alloy system, such as pure nickel and cupro-nickel.For dissimilar joints between alloy 400 and other alloys or steel, sensitivity to dilution by Fe (20-30%) or Cr (3-6%) can lead to low ductility(or bend test fissuring) in weld metal close to the fusion boundry.
Redrying
If moist re-dry at 200°C for 2 hours

ENiCrMo-4 - ISOARC 276
Descriptions
Isoarc 276 Is an MMA electrode for the manufacture and repair of hot forming tools and for oxidation and corrosion resistant overlays. It is used for the manufacture and repair of drop forging dies, hot forming dies, pump impellers, retorts and valves. Not only can it be used for overlays , but it can be used for joining special alloys such as Hastelloy C276 to itself or to stainless steel.High temperature stability is limited by intermetallic phase formation in addition to fabrication welds in alloy 267, these consumables have good tolerance to dilution by most ferrous and high nickel alloys, and are suitable for surfacing and dissimiliar welds which exploit the corrosion resistance.
Characteristics
Isoarc 276 is a heavily coated electrode with approx. 170% metal recovery. The electrode has excellent welding characteristics and de-slagging properties.
Applications
Applications include pumps, valves, pipework and vessels for use in aggressive environments in Chemical processing plants, Cement processing plants; also in equipment for flue gas desulphurisation and critical equipment in offshore oil and gas production.
